NBC Gives Chelsea a new show

COMEDIENNE Chelsea Handler has an NBC show in the works! The Chelsea Lately host is working on a project that’s reportedly based on her three books — including Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, a collection of essays about her twentysomething years.

Handler will help produce the series, but won’t star in it.
“The show will be mined from my books and allow me the creative control to put a younger actress in the situations I found myself in at 26, while I sit back, laugh and not get arrested,” Handler told Entertainment Weekly.

Handler recently finalized a deal to star in a series called After Lately — a semi-improvised, behind-the-scenes look at Handler’s Chelsea Lately show.“A perfect platform for people who have no business being on camera,” the funnywoman said.
